Metal Gear Online Game Information

Metal Gear Online is the first real multiplayer installment in the Metal Gear Online series since the proper test runs were done in MGS3: Subsistence, MGS: Portable Ops and Portable Ops Plus and MGO is scheduled for a North American release on 15th November 2008.

MGO will harness the full potential of the PlayStation 3 and the revolutionary 'Cell Processor' technology developed by Sony.

Metal Gear Online About the Game

Metal Gear Online comes as somewhat of a bigger surprise. Although running on an engine similar to Metal Gear Solid 4's, the game will be released as a standalone title for the PS3. A total of sixteen players will be able to combat simultaniously in a high-tech war of wits.

Players will be able to track their comrades location and movement through walls via their nanomachines, as well as intercept the nanomachine signals of enemies who have been defeated. Additionally, Kojima Productions has activated a sign-up page for a closed beta campaign of the new MGO.

The beta sign-up lasts from July 24th to August 6th, with the actual beta itself running from August 30th to September 3rd. As of now, the page is only accessable in Japanese.

A New MGO Beta has been confirmed for Japan, North America and Europe for the 21st April 2008 till the 6th May 2008, this will be a test run to see how the game runs until MGS4 is released on 12th June when it comes packed with the MGO Starter Pack, this will include another three maps and should keep people entertained until the full package of MGO is released in November.
