Section : Grand Theft Auto IV | Comments | Posted by Matt Stanyon at 20:30 BST

Do you want more Grand Theft Auto? Well, that's what Todd Mitchell, analyst for Kaufman Bros. Equity Research wants. Nay, expects! Speaking to GI.biz, Mitchell stated that he's anticipating two more downloadable GTA IV episodes to launch after The Ballad of Gay Tony. "It's been indicated to me that would be the case," he said. Additionally, with Microsoft's exclusivity deal covering only two episodes, these DLC add-ons may also appear on PS3.

In addition to new GTA IV episodes, the analyst believes GTA V will debut some time in the 2011 fiscal year (October 2010 to October 2011). The only reason it wasn't announced or teased in any way during E3, he believes, is "Rockstar's track record with delivering on time."

The most curious of statements Mitchell made was regarding the possibility of a new Grand Theft Auto hitting the PlayStation 2 system. No, you read that right. He believes a PS2 port of the PSP port of the formerly DS-exclusive Chinatown Wars may hit the aging Sony system, although he admits he's not too "confident" about that prediction. Pachter, eat your heart out.

Section : Syphon Filter PS3 | Comments | Posted by Matt Stanyon at 13:20 BST

Last year and early this year it was rumoured that Sony Bend would be showing off a new Syphon Filter game for the PS3 during 2009 and then release it later that year or during 2010. But then the game was never shown at E3 2009 and Sony Bend never even made an appearance at the gameshow. Now fresh rumours are starting to pour through that Syphon Filter PS3 may be canned and that Sony Bend Studios may be closing down for good, they were responsible for the entire Syphon Filter series aswell as Resistance: Retribution for the PSP.

One of the artists working for Sony Bend throughout the last three games is rumoured to have said that these movies are because of poor sales of Dark Mirror, Logan's Shadow and Resistance Retribution due of pirates. He goes on to say that their next project which was supposed to be Syphon Filter on the PS3 is canned and that there is also a very huge chance that they will shut down the studio as well.

I blame Sony for this, they kept asking the team to release awesome games on a gaming system that has so easily hacked by the general public and now everyone is downloading the games instead of going out and buying them. Sony only seem to care about sales even after they have known that PSP games sell poorly because of piracy. In case you are wondering this may mean the end for Syphon Filter games forever. Just like the Driver series and the Blood series, Syphon Filter will be sent into the realms of history and forgotten about, which is a huge shame..

Today, Konami is releasing a new stage and an old character for Metal Gear Online.

The third expansion for MGO's "SCENE EXPANSION" brings Metal Gear Solid 4's "Old Snake" to the fight as well as a new stage "Icebound Inferno". The stage is MGS4's windy blizzard Shadow Moses stage.

Also to celebrate the first anniversary of Metal Gear Online, Konami has provided very special DLC: Bikinis. Just in time for summer!

Players will need to have at least the GENE Expansion to download the bikini outfits.

According to a recent Events posting on the Japanese Metal Gear Online page, a special announcement will be made on the official Metal Gear Online site on July 24th.

With a new map (Shadow Moses), character (Old Snake), and patch confirmed to hit after tonight's maintenance, MGO has been on a roll lately. The game has been seeing a recent rise in popularity, with a majority of the game's Survival lobbies being full throughout the night. It'd make sense for Konami to continue the release of Expansion Packs for the game. We've had Gene, Meme, and Scene so far, so obviously they'll have to wrap it all up with the release of Sense.
