With the 20th Anniversary of the Metal Gear legacy coming soon, MGS: TUS are running a series of special events!

For episodes 9 and 10 of PTT Podcast, they will be looking back on the entire Metal Gear series. They will be giving their opinions on each game in the series, but they are also looking for comments from fans all over the world to help bring these episodes together!

Choose and pick any titles below that you have played. Post about your most memorable memories, and give them each a score based on 1.0-10.0.

    Metal Gear (NES/MSX)
Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake (MSX)
    Snake's Revenge
Metal Gear Solid (including Integral/VR/Special releases)

And, starting tonight, they will allow users to vote in a series of polls that will lead up to the GRAND POLL on the week of the Anniversary. Trust them, you will not want to miss out on this one! It could change the way MGS is played forever...

If you feel that your opinion on the series is too big to post here in the comments section, I suggest posting in the linked topic or dropping them an e-mail!

GTA IV - Delay Possible?
Time : 22:05 BST | Posted by Matt Stanyon

Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter, in his latest assessment of Take Two, said that the publisher might delay Grand Theft Auto IV so as to move it farther away from Halo 3's September 25 launch. Currently, GTAIV is expected October 16, just three weeks after Master Chief moves in.

"We believe that a two-week delay would provide a reasonable gap between the launch of Halo 3 and the launch of GTA IV, and would actually help sales of both games," he said.

Indeed, the thought of having to shell out $120 to $220 (that's $90 for GTA special edition and $130 for the Halo's legendary set) in a short amount of time does make us want to hold off on one of the titles until our wallets are happier. But will two weeks make all the difference?

Pachter suggests another reason for a delay that has more to do with business strategy. If Take Two delays GTA IV two weeks, that will put it in their 2008 fiscal year. Though that would most assuredly hurt the publisher's FY 2007 prospects, Pachter said that it's possible they will just "throw in the towel" for the year and give themselves a strong start for FY 2008.

One devious suggestion that we hope doesn't happen: Pachter suggested Take Two keep the special edition on October 16 while moving the "normal SKU" back a few weeks. Good for business, but bad for the impatient gamer. Remember, this is just one analyst's opinion, and Take Two is still officially committed to the October 16 release dates.

Metal Gear 20th Anniversary Collection
Time : 18:40 BST | Posted by Matt Stanyon

Konami officially announced it for Japanese release.

Konami has announced today their plans to celebrate MG series 20th anniversary by releasing a limited edition collection that includes virtually every Metal Gear game ever released in their original forms.

This collection is currently stated to release only in Japan on July 26th.

According to Konamistyle.jp this collection will include these particular games & DVDs:

Metal Gear [PS2]
Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake [PS2]
Metal Gear Solid [PS]
Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons Of Liberty [PS2]
The Document Of Metal Gear Solid 2 [PS2]
Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater [PS2]
Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops [PSP]
Metal Gear Saga [DVD]

This collection's suggested retail price is 6,572 Yen ($54 Dollars).

From what I understand, this collection does not contain anything new and will just be a repacking of the older games in a new limited edition box set. This is a great set for anyone who is just getting into the Metal Gear series, because it contains 6 complete games for less than $60.

Along with this Metal Gear Anniversary edition, Konami also announced their plans to release a Metal Gear Music Anniversary CD collection. While they have not listed what tracks will be included on this CD (or CDs), the Konamistyle.jp does mention the release date as being July 17th and the suggested retail price as 2,800 Yen ($23 Dollars).
